Arts · Phoenix
On the first Friday of every month, downtown Phoenix throws open its galleries and studios for one of the largest self-guided art walks in the country. The heart of it is Roosevelt Row, the walkable arts district north of downtown where murals cover nearly every wall.
Galleries stay open late, artists show their work, and the sidewalks fill with street vendors, food trucks and live music. It's free to wander, endlessly people-friendly, and the best window into the city's creative scene. There's also a smaller Third Friday for those who prefer a mellower crowd.
It happens rain or shine, year-round, and it's an easy, low-commitment evening — park once and stroll. Rideshare in if you'd rather not hunt for a spot, and wear comfortable shoes.
