Event · Tucson
Each winter Tucson becomes the largest gem and mineral event on the planet. The Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase isn't a single show but dozens running at once — dealers, museums, and collectors filling hotels, tents, and convention halls all over the city for several weeks, typically from late January into mid-February.
You'll find everything from raw crystals and meteorites to museum-grade fossils, fine jewelry, and specimens the size of a room. The long-running Tucson Gem & Mineral Show at the convention center is the traditional centerpiece and caps the run each February. Much of the wider showcase is free to browse, though the marquee show charges admission.
The sheer scale is the draw — and the challenge. It brings big crowds and fills lodging citywide, so book your rental early and pick a few venues rather than trying to see it all. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bag for your finds.
