Dining · Tucson
Mi Nidito — "my little nest" — is a beloved family-run spot on Tucson's south side, open since 1952 and known for classic Sonoran plates served in a snug, always-busy dining room. The wait for a table is practically a local rite of passage.
The restaurant's fame got a boost when President Bill Clinton dined here in 1999; the hearty combination he ordered is now immortalized on the menu as the "President's Plate." Come hungry — portions are generous, and the chimichangas, enchiladas, and birria are the kind of comfort food that keeps regulars coming back.
They don't make it easy to skip the line, so plan for a wait, especially on weekend evenings, or aim for an off-peak hour. From a central Tucson rental it's a quick drive to the south side, and well worth the trip.
