Known as 'The People's Open' — and, fairly, as the greatest show in golf — the WM Phoenix Open turns TPC Scottsdale into the most electric stop on the PGA Tour every early February. It's the best-attended tournament in the sport, regularly drawing well over half a million fans across tournament week.
The heart of it is the 16th, the only fully enclosed stadium hole in professional golf: a par-3 ringed by grandstands packed with fans who roar for great shots and playfully jeer the misses. Nothing else on tour sounds or feels like it. Beyond the ropes, the week is a full-blown Valley social event, with concerts and hospitality villages surrounding the course.
If your trip lines up with the Open, plan early — it overlaps a busy stretch of the winter calendar and lodging fills months in advance. Tickets sell quickly, and with traffic heavy around the course, the shuttles and rideshare drop-offs are by far the easiest way in. Exact dates are announced by the PGA Tour closer to the season.
